04 RX FWD - Window Trim Missing/Stolen
Fellas,
Either this was stolen or fell off while highway driving. Has anyone experienced this? What's the part number or the name for this so I can buy at Sewell or at a junk yard. Appreciate your help.

Believe it or not, you have to buy the whole window ($$$)! This had been discussed here many times simply use the search this forum feature with the key word "window trim".

Hence we encourage everyone to check their rear window trims, as they tend to fall off. If loose, remove and re-apply the sticker, use a good 3M double sided sticker. Then you are good to go for many years.
I tug on my trims every once in a while. Suggest you do it as well.
Because we all know that the trim itself can not be bought alone.

Did not know Sewell was selling this much maligned trim already.
For $105 after CL discount, heck not a bad deal at all!
Salvation.

So I figure this is the trim with black glossy finishing, right? somehow it makes me think that this part at Sewell is chrome.
I wonder how easy the installation is. 3M?

Call Sewell's parts department and ask them. Should be piano black gloss like the other side. As this is an official Lexus part it is doubtful it is chrome as that was not an option.
Yes, it is at 3M tape install along with perhaps some Permatex and/or plastic weld for a better hold. All this is indicated in the thread Rainbird provided you above. You have to dig through the thread a bit to get what you need, but I assure you it is all there.

Used trim
They quoted me $100 knowing that this part is in high demand. http://www.tlsautorecycling.com/sear...30/112457.html
I'm paying $7 more + shipping for a brand new part.

Finally bought the parts from Sewell for about $100. It thought I was just ordering the molding, but the entire window with the molding came. Tried taking just the molding off from the window w/ no luck as the "pins/clips" that are attached to the window is not a cheap plastic anymore and it's metal like now At least Lexus knows that this is a common issue and replaced the clips with the metal.
I now need to replace the entire window. It seems like you need to take off the cover inside the car to get the old one out. Does anyone know to replace the window? I see a cover that runs from the rear of the seat to the trunk, but can't seem to get this off or i may be too scared to yank it off.
Thx.

I was in the same boat. I thought I was getting just the molding but got the whole window/molding assembly. Since I didn't know how to replace the window, so I took it to my mechanic, who had his window installer come by and install it. He charged me $70 for what's usually a $100 job.
