New 2 Forum - Just picked up 2007 Lexus RX 350 5A
Hey All,
Just joined the forum and hope to contribute what I can but its a learning curve for me anyhow with this new SUV.
Could anyone explain what the 5A means? I tried searching on google for the past two days and can't find anything .. unless I am not searching properly.
Thanks,
UrbanRiz

Welcome UrbanRiz. First things first. Be sure to register the RX350 at Lexus.com. There you will find the car's service records and info on any recalls. You can also request the owners manual if you didn't get it with the car. These documents are also on-line there as well.
I think you will find Club Lexus a great help in getting acquainted with your RX350. Lots to absorb and the forum is loaded with knowledgable, friendly people. Enjoy!

Thanks NVAKeith!
Thanks Jfelbab as well .. !
I am picking it up tomorrow but am now VERY worried after reading about the Oil Line Damage. The car has 120, 000 kms on it and when we checked all looked ok. Should I be worried? Looks like the car is made in Japan going by the VIN which begins with J, does that make a difference?

There was a Lexus Recall (9LH) on the VVT-I Oil Hose. When you register on the Lexus owners website the service record should show that as being done. If not done get it in to Lexus ASAP. There is a new problem some members are having with another oil hose, discussed here:

I am actually in Canada and my RX350 VIN indicates a Japan make, as well it is a AWD. I am going to be picking it up tonight after work .. have been having sleepless nights since I read about the issues 2 day ago
Trying to register on Lexus.com does not recognize my VIN possibly because of what I mentioned about, being in Canada? Registering on Lexus.ca does not give any records
Will update when I find out more ..

Your vehicle does not require any outstanding safety recalls or service campaigns at this time. This inquiry covers all recalls or campaigns currently not completed for your specific vehicle identification number (VIN).
BTW I do not have a Tow hitch on my vehicle ..
Hopefully this is a good sign

Having or not having a tow hitch is not an true indication of anything. You may or may not have the Towing Package installed. It is possible to install a hitch without worries for a bike rack or similar use as it puts little load on the RX and its transmission. The only way to tell if you have the Towing Package is to look.
