Default Repair rear spoiler 04 330?

My rear spoiler looks like someone took a brillo pad to the damn thing.

Is this just fiberglass and if so, can it be saned/filled, painted, etc.?

Is there a better way to fix the issue? It looks like something my toddler would've done

thx

edit: it looks like it can be completely replaced for $150. Maybe I should just get over it until I have $150!

Probably just the clear coat coming off. Mine looks bad as well even though it spent much of its life in a garage or covered. Where did you see it for $150? Have not looked into replacing mine though I have been tempted. You could have the new one, or even the old one, painted to match the color of your vehicle, you could have a wrap put on it, or even dipped.

My wife's 08 spoilier looks pretty bad too. I just did a rubbing compound and polish it last week and it looks better now. Anyway, the wife's not that tall and she didn't even notice it until I mentioned it her.
I have seen another RX350 with the spolier painted, I think it would cost at least $4-500.

I will save that $150 or whatever. If it doesn't bother her, I won't worry about it.

08 Avalon Touring (mine)

I tried to post a picture, but I can't link to imgur from work, so I'll have to do it later. It's bizzare. It looks like someone just spent their day scratching it back and forth or consistently ran under a tree every day (I bought this car used and knew about this, it's only recently started to bug the crap out of me).

Mine has done the same thing. I guess that what happens to plastic left outdoors for 10+ years. I would just replace it at that price. Where did you find it for that cheap?

Of course I can't find the one for $150 now! Just googled again and found them between $200-$400. I think I'll just sand and paint if polishing the bajesus out of it doesn't fix it.

Mine had a big o scratch on it, so I took it to my friend's body shop, sanded down and painted body color giving it a later model year look. cost was $150 4 years ago, now probably $200-$250
