Welcome to Club Lexus, rfcbuf.

You have to carefully pop off the end cap which covers the bolt where it pivots. Can be done with your hands. Start with the edges furthest from the base.

Once the cap is off you can lift the arm up and change out just like the fronts.

Thanks for the quick reply. My goal was to change the rear metal blade to which the squeegee is attached and not the pivot arm. This is a most common replacement for the front wipers and hardly ever requires removal of the pivot arm also.

I'll try to locate more information about rear wiper blade replacement in the archives of this web site.

You misunderstand. The only reason to remove the end cap is so the arm can be raised off the glass. No need to remove the bolt holding the arm on. However, if you do not remove the end cap you notice it is much harder to remove or work on the blade -- no? The cap has to come off. Just a piece of plastic. After that, everything is just like the fronts and with standard wiper connection.

Default RX330 Rear wiper blade

Thanks again, your original instructions were correct. Blade was removed when plastic arm cap removal allowed arm to lift up and pop of old blade. New blade was purchased at toyota dealer for $16. Could use same blade as used on Toyota Hylander.

Default Rear Wiper RX 330

After purchasing rear wiper at Toyota dealer for $16 discovered exact same blade offered by Trico at many local part stores. Trico distributor cost for rear blade is aprox.$8.00 to $8.50, retail at the parts stores should be less than the Toyota retail of $16 .

Yes, this has been discussed before:

Think I paid perhaps $6 each last year for just the rear insert. Purchased a few sets of inserts for front and rear at the time. Cheaper than replacing the whole wiper blade section.

I got one yesterday for $8.88 at Walmart (entire arm, not just rubber). Identical to the original.

Entire arm, really? That's good to know.
Never knew it was available aftermarket for retail, always bought the blade refill.

I know what you mean, however, your terminology is wrong. You did not purchase a "wiper arm." That is the piece from the pivot at the motor connection on up to the wiper blade.

A typical system looks something like this:

Though, I will even take some exception to this diagram in that the "wiper head w/blade" is commonly just referred to as the wiper blade with the wiper insert being just the rubber part. The terminology has gotten a bit lax over the years on exactly what is the blade and as these are now sold as an assembly where the rubber is not really replaceable in all cases. But, the wiper arm has always been agreed upon.

You are correct, more like the wiper head with blade. What I meant was the head is identicle and looks OEM, exact match and appears to be a partial arm, not just a blade. Does not look like aftermarket at all.
