Go Nick go! I am with ya!

Go to BITOG if you want serious oil talk.

If sniffing your oil works for you, who am I to argue. Just don't be sniffing your differential oil. That stuff stinks right out of the bottle. Based on smell, you'd be changing that daily.

Actually, I CAN, as I've doen several UOAs in a row and the numbers were very similar.

This seems like such an endless debate/ argument. I am moving on to happy trails with my 5K per change. Not like it's a really hard thing to do.

Ding,Ding, Ding!!!! We have a winner folks!! You cant go wrong with 5k intervals. Especially on Synthetic. Just wait till the good ole "Maintenance required light starts a flashin"

At 5K just skip the synthetic then as well. Isn't the whole point of synthetic to last at least 2x as long as regular oil?

if you really want to determine the change interval you should do oil analysis (e.g. blackstone).

^ This. Debate may be endless but you can't argue against a UOA (better yet, regular UOA's versus a one-off).

It's one benefit but not "the whole point". There are certainly other benefits.
