Toyota OEM oil filter?
Hello, gang.
Relatively new guy here. Just purchased an '06 this past summer with 38K, and we absolutely love the car (so far, anyway). I read through the forum quite regularly, and have found several posts and discussions that have been very helpful.
I've done the search routine, but seem to come up empty. Can someone provide me with the OEM part number for the Toyota oil filter that fits the RX330? I believe the Highlander uses the same filter, and did I also read there is a slightly larger version available, or am I making that up?

The 90915-20004 is the original filter that came on the car. The 90915-YZZD1 is the only one you will most likely find in the US. There are many parts that are “different” between the US and Japan and in all cases that I know of the Japan built part is a better part (and more expensive). I have been using the 90915- YZZD1 for many years and have had no problems with it. If you do some looking around, you will find some cut open pictures of the two and you can see the difference. IMHO, it’s not worth the hassle of finding the Japan filter as the 90915-YZZD1 is the one you would get at the dealership should you have an oil change there. In fact, there have countless reports of people ordering the 90915-20004 only to find the 90915-YZZD1 on delivery. The RX is a “dirty” car to change because of where the filter is located, other then that, it’s an easy job typically taking me less the 20 min including all the plastic covers.

You can pretty much buy the 90915-YZZD1 at a good price when you get bulk from the on line stores, if cost is the issue. I do my shopping once a year to optimize shipping costs.
Trying to find a BETTER filter will not add value. You change them every oil change (5~6K on synthetic), whereas the actual service rating on the filter is every 15K.
Did this help with your concern?
