What type of oil filter to get?
I just recently purchased a 94' LS 400 (thoroughly pleased with it) and I need to know what kind of oil filter to get.....I am limited to what I can get, I am in a small town and about to do a 1000 mile drive....TIA
Is this the filter toyota makes?

I didn't even know mobil 1 made an oil filter I use K&N oil filter and does anyone know if K&N is more expensive than the toyota oem oil filter? Anyhow I read on some other threads that oil filters don't really matter if you change them every 3000mil/3 months. I think i might start using a more cheap oil filter. anyone got any insite on this?

My $.03, order some of the factory filters from www.lexus-parts.com (That's Sewell right?) or Carson Toyota. As well, I suggest an oil analysis so you have some data on how the oil is performing in your car.

too high
i just take it to the shop, it's a ***** taking off that mat w/o being lifted too high....even the mechanics dont like taking off that mat underneath!
Get some Ramps to drive up on and bricks for safety.
Quick and painless "lifting"
I believe that there are two types of people out there:
1. Those who will get dirty, and know that they are the only ones to blame for their mechanical handywork. Also their main point of doing the work themselves, expecially on a Lexus, is to save money.
or
2. Those who don't like to get greasy hands, and have the time and money to get someone else to do it,........ continually.
Why would you contribute anything to this forum if all you can say is, "I take it to the shop"?
If someone is asking for advice on filters, they are probably going to do it themselves.
That's my guess, correct me if I'm wrong.
So if you know what Filter the guys at the shop put on yor engine, feel free to write it here.
Sorry, I am Blunt.
