Does anyone know how to replace the light behind the LEXUS that lights up in the door step when you open the door?

It appears that this piece snaps on. If you start by carefully prying up the piece towards the front of the car and working your way to the back it will pop off.

it does just snap in but it's keyed w/ the trim piece forward of it so start by prying from the rear. The wire connection is in the forward corner of it. Attached is a picture which will help. Don't remember the bulb size but once you pull the trim you can go to any parts store and get replacements.

Thank you for the guidance folks. I was trying to take only the metal piece out by sliding a flat head screwdriver under the plate but it seem to just bend the metal so I stopped. I will try to peel the whole plastic piece. Thanks BurgBoxstr for the very helpful diagram.
