Default Mileage on used RX

I am researching the RX models (330/350) and am wondering if mileage matters when looking at a used RX. For example, does a RX330/350 with 30,000 kms drive better than one with 80,000 kms assuming that the same level of care has been given to both those vehicles?

Another item that I am researching and was not able to find much help searching the forum is details of what the RX350 has over the RX330. The only information that I found is that it has 3.5L 270HP vs 3.3L 230HP and as a result the tranny seems to shift a bit smoother. Is there anything else?

Any help answering the above would be much appreciated.

mileage wise...my car has 80K miles on it, and it drives as smooth as i bought the car. of course, i bring it to the dealer like clockwork every 5K miles so...that might make a difference.

you should definately get the VIN number on the car and bring it to a lexus dealership to see if they can find service records for it.

also keep in mind if its a relatively new car with high miles, it usually means they are mostly highway miles and that are apprently better.

the RX330 versus the RX350 varries depending on year of the RX350

basically when the RX350 came out in 2006(i think ) it recieved the 3.5 liter engine with 270 horses, and lexus claims they changed at least 20 things to make the car more quiet, and to fix small quirks. I have been in RX350 loaners and they are indeed more quiet. i believe most of the stuff added was extra insolation, especially around the windshield.

then in 2008, the RX350s recieved new optional rims, chrome door handles and a new grill.

so there we have it, virtually no difference cosmetically

Will any Lexus dealer be able to pull up all service history on any Lexus whether or not it has been through their dealer? If so, how willing are they to do so? Does this include any Lexus cars from the US/Canada or just within the country?

I know that with my BMWs, the dealer will NOT share that information with a 3rd party - that information is just between them and the owner of the car.

What about with the technology in the car? For example. is the AWD system any different from the RX330 to the RX350?

oh yeh i forgot to mention.

the awd system also changed to include a limited differential, so apparently its better. 2004 navigations also did not have bluetooth phone connection. that was added in 2005.

and i think service records can easily be given to a person if they are potentially going to buy the car. im not sure if records are limitted to a country though

From what has been posted, it seems the car history has been shared freely by Lexus [the dealership are linked, so any service at any location is known] ... I am not sure if this applies to cross boarder dealerships.

I personally frown on this, and when my son was looking for a car, I made sure that he gets a verbal ok from the previous/current owner before asking the dealership to look into prior history.

Milage directly influences the wear and all things have a limited life. But negligence and bad treatment is much worse. It is hard to ascertain, the neglect/abuse by looking at the odo.
