Default Lexus RX350 key cut

Anyone know that regular key shop can cut Lexus key? Or can dealer do it without paying big bucks. I was looking at these colored key shell on eBay. But it comes with the uncut key blade (attached to the shell and keyblade).

I had one cut for my 330 up here in NY for 25 bucks at a local locksmith. The dealer up here actually told me that they dont cut keys there...Not sure if thats a good price or not, but it works fine so I'm happy...

Remeber, the key blank must be matched to your vehicle.

The cut (personalization) only makes the key and the key-cylender match and this enables all lock and unlock function with the key inserted in the key hole.

There are tow other things (remote and the imobilizer) that are done by the electronic module. If you plan to swap the orignal module in the new key shell, then you are all set. Else you must register the key (electronics) with the ECU.

salimshah - Correct. Just want swap the new colored key shell with blank key attached ($20 + $1 S/H). I am keeping the electronic module from the factory key, no need to re-programe it. That seller (eBay) also added that they can cut it for me for additional $10 but I have to send them the factory key for the cut. They seem to know what they are doing and have 100% positive feedback. But I am nervous about sending someone of my key.

Call around locksmiths in your area and tell them you are trying to get keys for Lexus (there is a channel that needs to be cut as opposed to teeth on the outside).

If you must send the key over (dont send the electronic module), keep in mind that any one who matches your key can only operate the locks and can not drive away your vehicle. Also make sure for duplication you DO NOT use the valet key.
