Maintenance schedule
Hi all, a new owner is here. I was wondering what is your maintenance schedule for your RX. My salesman said there is a free 1000 mile checkup (not oil change), then first oil change will be performed at 5000 miles and at 5000 mile intervals. Is it what you guys do?

You might want to do a search on this topic.
As you can imagine, there are a number of opinions ranging from 3000 miles to over 10000 with synthetic oil. I'm sure a lot of people follow the recommended 5000, but arguments can be made (and have been!) for shorter or longer intervals based on your specific driving patterns.

You REALLY need to open your glove box and
read your manuals. Not being a wise guy but you need to get familiar with this stuff. And, I bet you will find out some interesting things you can do and about your car in it also.

As previously referred, the maintenance depends on your driving habits.
If you'll be driving less than five thousand miles a year, you may want to consider servicing the RX according to time versus mileage. Meaning the oil and filter changes every three of four months, regardless of the mileage. Both air filter changes every year, regardless of the mileage. Wiper inserts as needed.
I rotate and re-balance the tires every four thousand miles.
In any case, don't exceed the recommended time or mileage for services. Refer to both owners manuals. Your Lexus likes fresh fluids.
Lastly, preserving the body and chassis rubber. I use the Aerospace 303 on the door, hatch and hood rubber seals for lubrication and preservation. A light weight oil for all the hinges and white lithium grease on the lock striker and catches.
