CD changer and AC problem at the same time
Hi all,
I have a 2001 Lexus RX300 AWD. A few days ago when I tried to turn on a CD, an error message appeared on the screen and CD didn't work. Then today I tried to turn on the AC, I noticed that the fan is working and there is cold air but somehow there was no air coming out to the face. I tried to turn on the CD again but nothing happened, not even the error message as before.
What could be the problem here?
P/S: A few weeks ago my car was hit heavily right to passenger front side wheel. I had to replace spindle/steering knuckle, drive shaft, tie rod,...After I replaced all these things AC and CD are still working well. I just want to mentioned this in case they are related.

Have you tried to disconnect the battery for about 20 minutes?
Make sure you remove the ignition key and wait 2 minutes and then disconnect the "-" terminal.

Thank you for the reply. I just disconnected the battery for a couple of minutes. I then tried to turn on a CD, and the "Error 3" message is on the screen. By the way, the AC is blowing air to my legs even though it was directed to face. Do you have any new idea? Thanks.

Error 3 is a code for mechanical malfunction. I would verify none of the cds were knocked out of their trays from the impact of the accident.
In order to fix the HVAC issue, you need to replace/fix the air mode servo. Please do a search, you will find mountains of information!

Thank you. For now I couldn't even open the CD changer to see if some disk is out of order. As CD changer and air mode servo are in the same area and have problem at the same time, I am wondering if their problems are connected.

Since you say you can't even open the CD changer, that pretty much tells you there's a mechanical problem with that, as hypervish said.
The air mode servo do tend to wear out, so look at the DIY thread to see how to replace/repair it.

Thank you all for your replies. I will go ahead and fix each of them then. I fixed blower motor before so I think I am confident to handle the air mode servo.
