With my 2000 RX300 I just purchased today. The multi CD changer is showing up on the display screen but doesn't start playing the CD. It's frozen at 000. The buttons below the display are not working for the CD player. The radio does work though. Anybody know what I can do about this problem?

 

I stopped using the CD changer years ago in favor of a grom bluetooth adapter. There are threads here on the grom.

I guess you don't like the alternative. Then your are left with the option to fix the problem, which can be as simple as misfeed or more complex as laser alignment.

If you are new to first gen RX, I would recommend that you consult the owner's manual as the discs are loaded upside down (in my word). Also the player does not work nice with home burnt CDs.

You may have to choose between getting the changer repaired or replaced. There should be plenty available but since the model is fairly old and in early days the CD's were still in use, the used unit may have been overworked. Buy from a reputable place which offer warranty/return.
