RX door latch - actuator
Hello I have a 2001 RX 300 & I was in the process of replacing the door lock actuator and I had everything apart and the door open I placed the latch in the door with one of the 3 torx screws and the wind blew the door shut and I can not open it at all to work on it now. I had both of the metal rods off of the actuator assembly which is inside the door. I have tried pulling on the rods to release the door latch to open the drivers door without any luck? Is there something that I am overlooking here? I would appreciate any help to get this open it is only locked on the first 1/2 of the closure.
thanks

It seems the door panel is off ,, so that is good news.
Some rods work on push action instead of pull. So first try to untangle them inside the door and during assembly you would have brought them up to nylon connectors. You can tug and push them.
The flex cable is still your best bet as you can sneak it through various openings. The trick with the cable is you have to pull the steel wire and push the jacket.
All release systems will not work if the lock has been engaged, so make sure you manage to unlock first .. either by rod, thumb release wire cable or even the electronic unlock.
Also disconnect the battery.
You may have to remove the door handle to create room at top of the rods.
