Default Amber Oil lamp with wavy lines

Hello guys,

It's my first Lexus (a 2001 Rx300 - Made in Japan), and I've run into some issues.
I got this as a used car, and presently have an amber/yellow oil indicator that's stayed ON on my dash. I actually bought the car with this light ON (just assumed an oil change will sort it out)

Upon purchase, I had the engine oil changed, and I ensured it was filled to the appropriate level (confirmed with dipstick) but this light has stayed ON.

I have read through some input on the forum pointing to a faulty/disconnected oil level sensor but I can't seem to locate the sensor (I assumed it would be underneath the oil sump tank but can't seem to find anything like it there).
  1. Does anyone know if these cars (2001 Rx300) come with an oil level sensor?
  2. If they do, can you please indicate its location on the car - pictures would be great
I have attached snapshots of the light on the dash for provide better clarification. I would appreciate your support.

Thanks!

Thanks fastnoypi,

What's the function of red oil can - Isn't it different from the yellow/amber indicator with the wavy lines?

Welcome to CL

Please get hold of owner's manual and read it cover to cover.

Most of the questions are answered in there.

Remember what you read on the internet is not necessarily right and the manufacturer is the ultimate authority on the vehicle they produce

Interesting that RX300s sold outside of North America have an low oil light. The RX300s in America, do not have a low oil level light; only a low oil pressure light.
