Default 1999 RX 300 Lexus 337,000 miles

No problems with this car. I purchased it used in 2000 and it has been the best car ever! Gas mileage now is maybe 15 MPG which sucks and the turning radius does too (perfect 8 point u-turn) but other than that reliable beyond words. Hoping to get 500K out of this engine. I would buy it again! No major repairs but always full maintenance per recommendations. Using synthetic oil now that she is getting older -does go through a bit more oil. Interior still in top shape. LED on dash finally went out where so you can't tell headlights are on not worth tearing my dash apart to replace. Bulbs on headlight come loose -tweak the bulb plug to adjust and it stays put. car is loud with snow tires on- I keep windows closed. LED on gear shifter also out but she is old. replaced the leather front drivers seat and new vinyl in back makes car look new. driving Los Angeles Traffic for years and lots of mountain driving years back. Fantastic snow car!

What a way to introduce yourself. Glad the vehicle has exceeded your expectations.

And welcome to clubLexus.

I too tell all the members not to fuss to much with the vehicle. Do the recommended maint and fix the things that need fixing (no less no more).

We got our RX300 new in 1999 and have put on 180,000 miles since then. Still running fine. It's an old car with lots of little things that I would get fixed on a newer car (heater servos, engine mounts, struts, door lock solenoids, seat belts, etc) but not worth it on a car that's only worth $2000. We're running it until something big goes south and then I'll scrap it and buy another!

If you keep up with little things as they pop up, then the proverbial snowball never becomes big. I understand where you are now.
