Slipping Transmission (ECT Snow? Power Steering fluid??)
Here are the facts:
- 2002 RX300 with 102,000K miles
- Recent "whining" noise when car was started cold. Put in additional power steering fluid this morning.
- Whining went away
- Have used ECT snow a lot in the last week. I think I go too fast when this is on based on what I've read. Not on the highways but still 30-40MPH
- Regardless, 2 hours after I put in power steering fluid, I notice small hiccup in transmission (from 2nd to 3rd). Within 30 minutes the car wouldn't go in reverse and was having problems getting out of 2nd gear. Almost un-driveable.
- When the car wouldn't go in reverse. I turned the car off. Waited for 2 minutes. Started it back up and it went in reverse.
- Transmission fluid level looks decent right now.
- Now metal shards that I could see on the dip stick.
Any help would be GREAT!
