Default Display Screen Stopped Working

Hello guys! i'm new to these forums and was looking around the internet for a solution to this problem but couldn't find anything so I thought I would sign up and ask you nice people if you have any ideas for my problem..

My car model is a Lexus RX 300 year 2000

Here is the problem.

I was in Georgia working on my job. My display screen was working real good and all the controls like the Air/Heat/CD player/Radio was working. Well one day after I got off and turned on my car and the screen was blank like it was fried or something. nothing works now so I just ride around now with nothing.. I did a reset by unplugging the battery and it didn't work.. It was really hot that day but I wouldn't think the heat would destroy the display unit but I guess it's possible but is there any other things I need to try before I find a used one or take it to the dealership and any idea how much this fix would be?

Thanks for taking time out of your day to help..

Is your display Nav.screen?

Start by checking fuses by the driver knee.

Other than the display what else is not working.

Just to point out ,,,, the display intensity is controlled by a dial when the headlights are turned on,so test out the display with the headlight stalk switch to off.

I believe the display backlight is controlled by the brightness switches that are on the radio head unit, not by the dial on the dashboard for the gauges.

Right? Or are you talking about something else.

No it's not a navigation. It's just a basic display screen it just shows the time and temp and radio station your on.

Everything is not working the screen is blank and the radio won't come on and the air won't work. We checked the fuses. Which i'll prob double check again just to make sure but last time I checked the fuses was good.

I think the basic display screen setup was unchanged between 99 and 03. For under $100, you can get a complete radio console with a screen on eBay. Might be worth the relatively small investment to see if the screen is the problem, plus you'll have some extra spare parts!

I don't know if the screen is the issue though.

I think if the screen backlight died, then you would still be able to turn on the HVAC. And confirm it's working by hearing the fan.

But what do I know, I'm just guessing. LOL

I believe it's either the fuses or the control board.. The screen is lighted up but with nothing is showing up on it..The Air is off and Radio is off.. So it has to be either the Control Board or Fuse not sure what it is but that's what I think it could be
