interchangeable sun visor for 1999 RX300
This is my first post sorry if this is covered already but I couldnt find it.
My question is I was wondering if someone can tell me if the visors from a second or third generation RX fit the first gen.
I looked at a visor on the drivers side on a 3rd gen. and the visor itself looks like the right size but the plastic cover over the screws looked different and I couldnt take it off to check the placement of the screws. the one I looked at also telescoped or extended out on the metal rod. ( the one in my car does not extend. )
I will try to find a used set since the cost of a new set is prohibitive for me.
I want to use the newest set that will fit.

I cant say for sure, but with-in the first gen I noticed a difference (not in fit). I have a 99 and replaced the visor with 00 and the slide action was different.
As a general rule, if the snap on cover (for the mounting screws) is different, then most likely it wont fit. The cover typically snaps on the base.
Good luck in your quest.

good and bad and ugly
The visors were from a 2000 and stay up tight. they are slightly different than the 1999
the plastic screw cap is the same but the rod is different and they extend.
Happy again.
We have only had the car for 2 weeks and somehow it got scratched on the front bumper no one knows how this could have happened. Took it to a painter for estimate $300.
not happy again.

This topic was discussed in a paint touch-up thread here a couple of days ago. There are places that specialize in spot touch-ups to bumpers that charge more like $100. I have a place in south Florida that does great work, you can't tell where the work was done.

My 99 factory installed visors would only rotate and swing. The replacement 00 would also slide out on the pivot (rotating) rod.
Sometimes the manufacturer makes minor changes midyear. These changes are typically not worth taking about.
