Side Marker Light Buldb Replacement
My 2000 RX300 has several side marker (corner) bulbs burned out. Can anyone tell me if the lenses just pop off or do I have to dismantle the cargo bay interior again? Also have the smae question for the bulbs in front.
Thanks
Jim

Note that some RX's have poor seals and water can fill the lamp assembly and corrode the contacts. If this happens, there is a short part that fits between the wiring harness and the bulb that can be replaced. Also, I followed the lead of other forum members and drilled a small hole in the base of the leakey assembly to prevent future flooding. This only happened at age 5 years on one of my side marker lamps.

I need to change my right front marker light on my 2000 RX300. The above link does not work can anyone supply a replacement. I don't see access thru the wheelwell or under the hood. Does the lens pop off? Thanks in advance.

Here is a photo of the back of a front side marker. You can see how it engages with the bumper panel. You access the nut holding it onto the bumper and the connector via the wheel well. More info here:

Hi guys,
tried to finally replace my side marker bulbs after years, but the burnt out bulb is so corroded, and the socket as well.
Is there anything I can do to clean it up? or does the socket needs to be replaced? If yes, can anyone provide part numbers? Front markers, rear markers.
Thanks!

I would personally cut off the socket and solder on a new one with heat shrink to protect the wires. I replaced mine this past summer and the corrosion went pretty far up the wires. The bulb is 194, I went with LEDs.
Note, the setup is: wire - wire harness socket - bulb socket - bulb - lens assembly
The easier route would be to clean the socket by dipping it in a salt+vinegar solution, then neutralizing the acid bath with a baking soda solution. Good guide on copper cleaning right here.

I had a side marker fill with water and corrode the socket many years ago. At first I thought I'd have to splice into the wiring harness but discovered that the socket and a relatively short lead with connector attached are available as a spare part. As was written about here maybe a dozen years ago, drilling a small hole in the new side marker bottom allows any water to drain out, so the problem can't happen again.
