Default Replacing xenon light bulbs on a 2008 RX400h

Hello,

I am sorry for reaching out to you guys however I am in need of some assistance. I am active on the GS forums but my wife's RX's low beam xenon light bulb went out. In order to replace it, dealer wants $110 per side. I bought replacement Osram light bulbs however accessing the light bulb doesn't seem easy. Is there any DIY's or Tips on how to replace them?

It is the most frustrating thing I have had to do on my RX350. Get someone who has very small hands is my biggest tip along with some patience. You squeeze the wires together at the top of the housing and push or pull (it's been some years so cannot remember which direction) to release the wire bracket. The light will be loose and can be removed. I have found getting the light out is easy, but putting the new one in is the tough part. You have to get a "feel" for how the bracket is designed so the wire can be held. It sounds easy to do being that it is just reversed, but it isn't. Maybe someone else has some magic to offer.

If you do a search someone else had a thread that talked about this.

Not sure why they would make it so difficult to replace.. it's frustrating.

So I managed to replace the light bulbs without having to go from the wheel well however now the aim seems to be off. Is this normal? i feel like it is throwing the light out far as before.

Are you 100% sure the bulbs are seated properly? If not, that will throw off the aim.

It is a pain to replace it from the top. However, the risk is high for a mis-alignment.

I am having a very hard time with the dust cover, is their an easy way to get that off, my HIDs are starting to dim down. It has gotten to the point that the fog lights do a better job lighting the road.

Grab the tabs and it should be about a 1/4 or 1/2 turn.

Thank you... It has seemed that the previous owners work did not properly seat the cover, one of the indents was misaligned.
