when car is cold, and turning the steering wheel all the way, it makes a little nudge. anyone else have this problem? when the car isn't cold it doesnt do that, usually happens in a parking lot.

I can't solve your problem but it is similar to mine in that it only happens the first time I move it. I don't know how long it would have to sit to do it again. I usually get a slight rubbing or scraping sound along with the nudge. The first thing I did was to check the lug nuts but they were fine. If you figure it out, please post it. What year and how many miles? Mine is '02 with 56K and all front end parts are original except brake pads. Rotors have been turned.

I'll agree with 99rx in that the only time I get any kind of jerk is when I don't come to a complete stop before clicking it into "Drive"

Guess what happens when you turn the wheel all the way ... the power steering pump, builds the pressure (and robs energy from the engine), then the relief valve kicks in and the power from the engine is no longer needed and the increased power goes to the transmission/wheels. It is like some one pushing and stops pushing.

as for the shifting from reverse to drive, i come to a complete stop and it still makes that jerk. perhaps it's just time to let the car go...

Does it always jerk from reverse to drive? If not, then the times that it is does jerk is the car cold? If so, you may just need to clean the TB and maf sensor.
How are the shifts are they smooth? When was the last time you drain and filled the tranny, also when did you last change the oil in the differentials and transfer case.

it shifts smoothly, but the transmission has been drain a long time ago. maybe at 100k, and it's now at 160k. i'm not sure what the oil differentials and transfer case is so i don't think they've been changed...
