Not Good!
Hi guys;
I decided to tackle my knock sensors this past weekend.-
Everything went great! (Every time I say it goes too easy, something goes wrong!)
I even started the car (Standing outside of it) before i put the hood back on, and it purred!
I installed the hood and plastic cowl underneath, got back in the car, started it, gave it gas......BANG,BANG,BANG!!!!!!!
I shut it off.....
Took everything apart AGAIN. Pulled my NEW spark plugs, to find number 5 plug all smashed up....
I enhaled something that must have gotten in my air intake.
I borrowed a borescope from work, and looked down inside #5 cylinder
I see the piece stuck to the top of the cylinder head, between the exhaust valves on a little landing. It looks like aluminum bubble gum!(all smashed up!)
Looks like I have some work cut out for me!
Everyone, PLEASE LOOK INSIDE YOUR DUCTWORK BEFORE REINSTALLING THEM. You won't end up like me! Sucking something in your engine!!
And I'm very cautious, and it still happened!
I am now it the process of taking my rear head off. (Rear exhaust is a big pain, can't get to bolts on bottom side of exhaust manifold)
I just did my timing belt about 2 weeks ago, now I have to take all that off again.
I cannot get the timing marks back to #1 TDC because the engine cannot be turned that far.
Fellow members, just remember this can happen!
I have been taking pictures, I just don't have time to upload them.
I feel like crying
I MISS MY RX....

One precaution you can take is stuff the intake.

First time started, just idle. Next time I just touched the gas petal. (-Very little-)Then came the noise.
I'm finding out There is a lot of things that have to come off that rear head before removal!
