Use of Amsoil Oil Filters.........
Use of Amsoil Oil Filters
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
What about the use of Amsoil filters. As compared to toyota/lexus brand filters.
Do you stick with Toyota filters with Amsoil oil?
Or go with the Amsoil oil filters with the Amsoil synthetic oil?
Sorry for all the questions.
Just want a piece of mind.

I think it is OK to mix or match brands of oil filters and engine oils.
With Toyota/Lexus oil filters, you have the USA-made ones, the Thailand-made ones, and the Japanese-made ones (possibly harder to find). There have been previous threads describing the innards of each.
I used to use the Japanese-made Toyota/Lexus oil filters, but have been using the USA-made ones lately. I usually change my engine oil at about 3,000 miles and use Castrol GTX oil.
From what I read the Amsoil oil filters are just fine. Unless you have unusually harsh driving conditions or lengthy oil change intervals, I think the filter characteristics (using any of the above-mentioned oil filters) are a minor issue (i.e., it doesn't make much difference).

Amsoil oil filters are expensive, and but they do have the best quality. State of the art filter media, design with good oil flow.
I prefer oversized Mobil 1 or the OEM sized K&N, my UOA of German Castrol 0w-30 with FRAM EG 3600 (oversize) has shown good result for my driving condition: more than 7000 miles of safe oil change interval with low wear metal counts.
My UOA is not a subjective claim, it is an independent report from a professional lab. https://www.clublexus.com/forums/sho...d.php?t=307275
