Wife shut the garage door on the rear hatch- how do I remove the trim strip over the license plate to repaint it? Do I have to remove the internal trim, or can it be removed from the outside?

Otherwise if your having a professional bodyshop paint it, just have them remove it, that way, if it breaks, you get a newone.

My server blocks the word lexasy, so I checked e-bay and found a chrome cover for $50 that looks pretty neat and will cover the damaged area except for a small scratch above. These are routine options offered in Europe and Asia, but oddly, not here.

Thanks for the tip- it just may work. The wife told me she would not let me spray paint it at home anyway.
