I made a CAI intake system and immediately notice the power gain.
CAI Air Horn
Key for a good intake is to have cold air outside the engine bay and increase the air flow.

Hydro lock won't happen unless you are driving the RX through standing water higher than your front bumper.
Air horn is positioned directly behind the left hole of the bumper, water splashed must be not only very high (to reach SUV's bumper), but also very directed (go through bumper hole). Given RX's higher height and small bumper hole, the chance of water to make to the air horn and suck all the way into the engine is extremely small.

Yes, but it is not the traditional setup that you see where people use the ram air concept.
After the Weapon-R intake, I have an air filter designed by a company called Matrix. It has a wire mesh top so that air can enter. Between the side plastic piece that runs underneath the fuse box and the top of the air filter I have a short piece of PVC that runs to the top of the wire mesh.
Then I have a metal shield that goes from the back of the air filter and runs about 3 inches in diameter to prevent the hot engine air from getting in (Weapon-R Cold Air Box was backordered over 6 months so I canceled and made thie piece).
The bumper hole air goes up the tube that used to be for the air resonator.
This thing has serious power and I cannot wait to test it at sea level or Texas altitudes.

Do you get some air from the stock inlet hole behind the driver headlight with your setup. I remember you posted that the engine would stall with your PVC pipe to the filter. I just capped the stock inlet hole and my engine does not stall in idle.
