Insane Lexus RCF POV video
Just as a disclaimer, some of the things this driver is doing are plain idiotic and dangerous. I don't endorse in any shape or form, driving like that.

He said it's just a muffler delete in the comments...kind of sounds like my Borla Exhaust. Thoughts on downshifting to the 1st gear around 3500 RPM's? I noticed the limiter to downshift isn't the same on the RCF as many other Lexus's but I feel like this is a kill tranny technique if driving standard in any other car?

There's NO WAY that is just a muffler delete! This guy had to have a Death Wish OR he was tryin' to either Wreck this car OR Blow it UP OR he is a BMW guy & just HATES the RCF. I Pity the Fool that buys this car next

I believe the exhaust audio was enhanced, probably overlaid (or they have the mic near the tailpipe outside of the car). There are several points where I see that the passenger is clearly talking to the driver but you can't hear anything from them.
I downshift all of the time for engine braking. But I don't downshift to 1st gear. That's just a little bit too rough on the tranny for my taste. I sometimes downshift to 2nd gear, but not often. When I do 2nd gear is rarely over 3500 rpm.
1st gear does have measures in place to prevent hitting the rev limiter. It will automatically upshift to avoid the limiter and will prevent downshifting if it will cause the engine to hit the rev limiter. However, the rest of the gears do not have such protections in place.
This is clearly a kid. His daddy probably has no idea what his son is doing to his ride.

In my 6sp, I often rev match and down shift at rpms well above 5k. I always felt this was more of a strain on the clutch than the tranny. He's driving the car like a high strung V6 with a lot of hp available after 6k rpm, unlike hemis or GM LSX/LT1. Auto x course relies on high rpm driving in very tight course
