Hey
So the car is about to hit the 5k mark. Who has taken the car into Lexus and what did they service. Do they change the oil or is that at 10k mark?
Also, if you have free maintenance for the life of the lease, I assume that covers everything but brakes and tires?

I took my RCF in several weeks ago for 5k service.
Yes, it included an engine oil change, but not synthetic. RCF uses REGULAR motor oil of a heavier weight (I can not recall right now). Where as non F models all use the synthetic 0W-20 oil.
Next oil change is at 10k. Same REGULAR oil, not synthetic oil.
I was told the engineersat Lexus HQ decided on REGULAR OIL, not synthetic oil for ALL F models.
I guess I will stick to what Lexus officially recommends.
Have fun and enjoy.

I had them do a synthetic oil change.

I think Lexus officially recommends regular oil instead of synthetic have something to do with breaking in and seats the rings on the Pistons at leaSt for the first two oil changes to 10k miles. I just do as recommended.
Can someone verify? Thanks

Most people think they are smarter than the engineers that designed the car. They believe synthetic is better for the engine since its newer technology (my self included).
Some also think redlining and driving hard to break in the engine to seat the rings is also better (I did that too with the RCF and 370z). Nothing ever broke and never burned a drop of oil.
At the end of the day, it's your car and you purchased it. If you think synthetic is better, use it .02
