Default Hard brake pedal after sitting for a few days

Anyone have a issue after their car sits a few days and the brake pedal is really stiff when you depress it at first start up? Like it won't depress anymore then it is.

Yes, I just had that issue on my 2008 IS F..

My Brake Booster Check Valve was acting up..!!

So I cleaned it with brake cleaner.. And it went back to normal..

Yours would be to new to start gunking up.. So might need a new check valve covered under warranty..

Brake pedal felt like a brick on first start up..

Thanks to Lobux's recommendation I cleaned mine with brake cleaner last night.. Soo far today the pressure remained in the brake booster..

If it keeps acting up or fails again, I will just order a new Brake Booster Check Valve & Grommet

Essentially as these things get old, they lose their ability to hold the boost over a long period of time.

Here are the pics I took last night..

After several days is completely normal. Tires also lose pressure over time. If you get a hard pedal after a few hours, then I'd mess with the valve. I doubt any dealer would replace it under those symptoms, but you can certainly try. And don't be surprised if the new one acts the same way. Good luck.

brought it to dealer. said it was a worn seal. they replaced valve. However again after sitting for like 3 days I try to start car and its hard again. any idea what could still be the issue. Its never did that when i first got it. now all of a sudden it does. doesn't sound normal. never had any car do that before.

It's more common when it gets cold. Don't obsess over things like that man; it's a non-issue. Unless you felt greater pedal effort, it's just normal. You'll continue wasting your time if you keep chasing that ghost. If it helps, I've NEVER owned a car that doesn't get a 'hard' brake pedal after days of not using it. And I've bought dozens of new cars over the years. Good luck.
