Default Is a Stand-Alone fuel controller necessary?

If you wanted go intake/exhaust on a 04 GS430, could you take it to a dyno shop to have it tuned just like that? Or is an aftermarket fuel controller needed? Basically, can a shop tune the factory ECU, without needing a fuel controller. I know some cars can and some can't, just having a hard time finding this info on the GS430. Thanks

No, they can't tune a Lexus without some sort of device like an Apexi Neo or SAFC

Ugh, I was afraid of that. Thanks for the info. As much as I love the Japanese auto makers, this thing annoys the **** out of me. Tuning is so easy and robust on LS1 cars... grumble, grumble... /end rant.

It's also pretty easy on Nissans, Honda's, Subaru's and pretty much every other non-Toyota manufacturer lol.
