Increasing Horsepower in a 2014 IS 350
Hi all, I am thoroughly enjoying my 2014 IS350 F Sport, a big improvement over the 2011 version
However, I know the car needs a tad more horsepower to keep up with the competition. When I had my 2011 IS350 F sport the only things I could find were cold air intakes and larger midpipe/exhausts. Now that I have a 2014 I am wondering if there is anything more I can do to the car to increase horsepower?
I saw this thing when I did a google search from a company called JDM performance. For 199 they send you a box that plugs into your ODB connector and "maps your driving habits". It then either increases HP or fuel economy. I called them up because I have been told these are either fake or bad for the car, and they said that I have to keep it plugged in all the time, also I would have to accelerate harder than normal all the time if I want to increase horsepower. I do not like the sound of that.
Bottom line is have any of you guys found anything other than cold air intakes and exhausts that can boost performance for my 2014 IS350 F sport? Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

You can supercharge or turbo, but this engine has been carried over since gen 2, very high compression.
Heard you can get 50whp from turbo?(below 8 psi).... Correct me if i'm wrong.
This mod is kinda expensive... hp per dollar.
Anyone have more info?

An OBD connector is a waste of your money. Not sure exactly what it would do (besides NOT increase HP), but it would probably just fool the car to think, for example, 25% throttle is really 80%... not extra HP by any means.
Bolt ons and supercharging is other options. Headers, full exhaust and boost it. Check the 2IS section for us boosted guys. Myself, Stewb10, Pepos, mikellucci, hks350. A few have parted out/arent active anymore but theres more than enough info. in the 2IS section (same engine as 2nd gen, not 1st gen IS).

you can FI it but theres no way to tune it without decrypting the ECU which no one has done yet. Only thing you can really do is bolt ons. JoeZ intake pipe is about 5-6rwhp, headers maybe 10-12rwhp, JoeZ exhaust 10rwhp.
Honestly you would have to move up to the ISF to get any appreciable gains. The ISF has pretty crazy gains for bolt ones, easily double the gains I posted above for the same mod. Same thing when some 250 owners want more power, getting a 350 is the best way.

I'm going to dyno my stock IS350 AWD soon to get a look at the AF ratios. In some cases you can use a piggyback to tweak the AF ratio and get some gains. On my old Tacoma I was able to squeeze an extra 27 hp using a SAFC2 and 3 pulls on the dyno. Not exactly a huge gain, but better than an intake or cat back.
I'm interested in adding a turbo, but I'm guessing I'll need to have the manifolds fabbed up. My welding skills aren't up to par. To me the rest is simple, though I don't have much experience with CAN. Everything I've done with EFI was obd or obd2.
I'll post up my dyno sheets after I go. I'm hoping to put at least 260 to the wheels with no mods.

Bolt on's are the only choice. Screw the turbo or SC, that will just make your reliability go down the **** tube and void your warranty. The reliability the is whole reason to get a Lexus isn't it? Just get a faster car.
