It's plug and play for any car with electronic throttle.
All it does is plug in between where the gas pedal plug is.
And all it's doing is lying about how far you pushed the gas pedal.
It doesn't change the ECUs response to the gas pedal input... it can't do that. It just changes how much gas the ECU thinks you gave the car.
You get the same actual response for free by pushing the gas pedal harder, but it doesn't trick your brain if you do that like the "throttle controller" does
And after a few weeks if you leave it on all the time your own brain tunes it back out-
That is if today you normally hit the gas 25%, and the TC tells the engine you hit it 40%, the "response" feels faster because the car reacts like you hit it 40%...
so after a couple weeks, because your normal driving style is 25%, you will subconsciously start to only hit it 10%, which the TC will tell the car was closer to 25%...and thus reaction will move back to how it normally is.
It only really remains "useful" if you only use it occasionally... and I put useful in very loose quotes.
It's a fun toy to use once in a while but does not improve actual performance in any measurable way.

a SAFC will give you about 10 hp for 50-100 miles, at which point the ECU will tune the difference back out.
Might be useful to get some 1/4 mile runs in, but not for daily use.
No useful tuning is available for the 2IS until you get into the $750-1500 range (MAPECU3, HKS F-con type piggybacks)

Why not just put a lighter spring on the pedal?
Kind of like putting a sticker over your speedometer that starts at 20 mph...
