06 is250 AT Transmission Jolting
Hello everyone, I have an 06 is250 with automatic transmission. The car feels and drives great, except for when Im coming to a stop and the spedometer hits about 5-10 mph the transmission jolts and I hear a cunk....
EVERY other gear, and at ANY other speed the car shifts smoothly/perfectly.
This just started happening.
Is my trans completely gone, how long do I have to replace?
Or could it be transmission mounts?
Thank you, in advanced.

Without driving/seeing/more information about the car it is hard to diagnose. It could be several things. Axle CV joints, mounts, universal joints ect... You need to get someone to look at it soon as continuing to drive it "might" cause more damage... The IS's seem to have a fairly robust trans, we do not hear of many problems....

I've put it in gear selection and it happens only when the car's shifting from 2nd to 1st gear. Sometimes it doesnt happen at all, however, I recon that's because the car is getting used to my style of driving....(maybe)
I've just bought the car, with possible transmission issues, however, I bought it for such a good price (several thousand below retail) I couldn't pass up the deal. I purchased a 100,000 mile warranty, but it doesnt kick in for another 60 days.
My IS250 has 114k miles. Motor is strong and smooth...but I think the person who had it before me might of killed the trans...possibly.
Gville, I did switch it to snow mode and it still jolted a bit.

Actually, I put it in power ect mode and it doesnt jolt anymore from 2nd to 1st....but I think it's my transmission because many times in 5th the accelerate and RPM's go up, but no car movement....its like the gear slips or something.
And one time it didnt want to go into 4th from 3rd gear through paddle shifting.....
I'm going to get it inspected soon, I just haven't had any time at all.

the car shouldn't really go from 2nd to 1st unless you are stopped at a light even with paddle shifting it wont go in unless you are doing like 10-15 mph
