Default what size injectors for a T70 turbo?

Hey all,

As some of you know, i got a T70 turbo, I am wondering what size injectors should i buy for to keep this things thirst quenched. I only want about 400rwhp or so... (for low boost) so i dont break my tranny. My VPC already has a 720cc chip, but i dont know if i want injectors that big. please help me!

So my question is What would you guys say is the best injectors for a T70? I want 400rwhp with the possiblilty for larger numbers when a 6speed tranny gets installed. I dont want to have to buy larger injectors for larger numbers. Whats the best size injectors that i can use without modifying my feul rail?

Thanks,
Kevin

You may as well go ahead and get the 720s awhile. If you already have the chip ... trust me... once you make 400rwhp, you will only want to make more. Get the big injectors awhile, bore out the fuel rail, and start boosting.

Time for another debate . A set of 550's and a 255lph pump will be good enough for well well over 400rwhp, why sacrifice the idle quality? No need to bore out the rail at that level either. Just my .02...

Sure, that would be even plenty of fuel for 500rwhp ... but everyone wants more after they get a taste.

If I would do it over again, I would've gotten 1000cc injectors and been done with it.

To answer the original question then ... for 400rwhp, he would really only need 440cc injectors and that would be plenty. As for the "best" injectors, as he asked, then I suppose if he weren't planning on going totally off-the-wall-towards-horsepower at a later date, then 550cc injectors should serve him well, yes.

1000cc squirters, that's just huge, you were intending on making close to 1000hp? Nice and fun but you'd have it idling around 1K to get it smooth, not worth it (for me at least) unless I was planning on some Street Class action.

so 550's will be plenty for what im looking for? Im really not in the mood or ready to break my 5 speed just yet, so i dont think that i will be needing 1000cc injectors.

let the debate continue, im still taking suggestions

I agree that 440's will actually be enough, you can make 450+ rwhp with them no prob, but 550's will still idle like factory so you might as well have a safety margin, and they are good to 500+ rwhp. Hope that helps. By the way, if you're looking to make 400+ rwhp, the T70 is not the turbo for you, that's big, player.
An SP57 would've made you very happy and would still have potential to make over 500 at the wheels no sweat. Are you automatic or manual?

im a manual, I understand that the T70 is way too big for the numbers that i want. I just got an incredible deal on it so i couldnt pass it up. and I dont want this beautiful turbo to go to waste so i dont want to let it go

Lexluthor is totally right!

Two 550 are plenty. I ran an 4 "additional" 280cc injectors in my 3turbo and I had to set my Rebic IV at the bare minimum to avoid fuel saturation at idle. My car was putting down 327hp @ 18psi to the front wheels.
280cc x 4 =1120cc too much fuel!

I see your car is a '92, so it was a Karman type AFM, which means you must be using a MKIII Supra Chip in the VPC? I don't believe there is a 720 chip for those. Unless you did a TT engine swap I don't see how you can have a 720 chip that will work.

My experience with the MKIII 550 chip in the VPC, and a AFC was that any larger than 680cc injectors didn't work very well. I ran out of adjustment on the AFC.

Just FYI, with a AEM and 1000cc injectors my car idles fine at 850 rpm, even with 264 cam.

The TT chip will not work for you since it is for hotwire.
