Default The final fix--Power steering leak around pump

Well thanks to the CL community I am just one final fix away for my 1993 sc400.

I have a rather substantial power steering leak just below and behind my PS pump. The air control valve is located just below the pump yes? Does it ever leak fluid? I found where a previous attempt at fixing this leak by way of worm drive clamps on the two hoses going into what I think is the air control valve. The hoses are LOOSE.

Still not exactly sure where the leak is but alternator is coated and rack appears dry. Any info or wisdom on the power steering line is appreciated.

Additionally, what are the torque specs for the pump bolts and the pulley bolt.

Again, cant thank you guys enough, not ready to invest in the expensive shop manuals

Yes the air control valve is on the bottom back side of the pump... it was leaking in my 95. I just put a bolt in place of it with some Teflon on it and haven't had a problem in over a year!

Great what size bolt is it? I can pick one up at work today. Did you remove the pump to put it in?

I did take off the pump, you shouldn't have to but I did to make it easier. I cant recall what size bolt is was off the top of my head, but here are some of the links that helped me out.

Default Update--Complete failure

I dont know what to say...I tried putting a bolt in place with some teflon and it didnt stop the leak....then i took the Air Control Valve bolt and tore it apart and welded down the hole on both sides and IT even leaks still!

Also, my power steering reservoir is leaking too is that also common?

A lot of not fun work today...any suggestions appreciated
Anyone try the 3sx performance braided AN powersteering line kit?

Yeah I'm almost certain since I have everything cleaned up and my reservoir is leaking at the very bottom

Well just an update, I got my new power steering reservoir and AN high pressure line from 3sx performance, looks to be high quality. The huge bolt that houses the high pressure fitting came loose fairly easily when I removed the power steering line...think I should replace the O-ring for that? It takes an 1-1/16th inch socket to remove...could some one give me the torque specs for it? Also, what size is it in Metric?

Everything is removed, going to try removing the high pressure line from the rack wednesday...looks like a bear to get to.

Last question, I want to replace a couple rubber hose return line sections, what size line do I need is it just fuel line or what should I ask for at auto parts store?

Thanks guys!
