Default Possible A/T transmission emulator for 1998-2000 SC400 M/T swaps

I stumbled onto this thread in the IS300 1st gen sub-forum a few minutes ago and a particular part in post #1 got my attention: an automatic transmission simulator the OP found which he is using to give the 1UZ-FE VVT-i engine ECU the signals it wants to see in order for him to run a manual transmission swap and not encounter a CEL or limp mode.

The OP is doing a 1UZ-FE VVT-i + manual swap into his IS300. Looks like he's getting close completing it.

For 1998-2000 SC400 and 1998-2000 SC300 owners wishing to swap to a manual gearbox this might possibly be an alternative to raiding the shift solenoids from an A650E transmission and bolting them under the car somewhere to give the ECU proper signals.

What do you all think?

You non vvti guys don't have to worry about this, only the vvti engines. If I'm to run the factory ECU which I am right now, I need to use this little guy. I ordered this off the facebook page from Russia. $100 shipped.

I'm pretty happy with my 5-spd A/T, but I'll be bookmarking this just in case that ever changes.

I think this is brilliant. No CEL 5 speed swaps. You should post up a direct link to their fb page / website on this post

this little thing is brilliant. Guy in Russia runs a fb page "jz security off"he's also the same guy that completely bypasses immobilizers. It's a private page so you'll need to wait for acceptance. You'll see all his devices for sale on there.

I actually sent him my usdm ecu and emulator to swap for a jdm 1uz ecu. Why?

jdm ecu doesn't have evap, immobilizer is reset so I can program my keys easier, my hks ob link will work with the jdm ecu better than my usdm ecu.

the at emulator prevents the a/t ecu from going into limp mode because of the missing trans. It's quite the ingenious design.

sorry about the delay in response, I can't post the link to the page on fb as its a closed group. However to find it Google "#all4swap" include the hashtag, the first result with facebook.com should link you directly to the closed group. Wait to be added and you'll see it there on the page.

there are no cels associated with my swap, there is one error code for a line pressure switch, but it does not trigger a cel (my cel is on when the key is forward and engine off, turns off after start up).

Can't you just simulate the relay load with a high wattage resister (don't remember the ohms off hand)? In the pickup world that's what some people do, but that's with the 3.4L 5vz, maybe the Lexus has some sort of return signal? I'd assume not and inside the box is just a few large resisters, or maybe just one. Anyway to open the box to see the guts? I'm planning to do a 3.4L swap to 1UZ down the road and figured the resister route would work.

He runs a more active FB group called all4swap. His has a site by the same name as well as also selling the ATEMU through serial9. There was a recent successful use of it on the Build Threads forum for a 1UZ VVTi and I will be attempting to use it in the near future for my 2JZ VVTi
