Default oil catch can

I've been reading about oil catch cans and wonder if they are necessary. My 93 SC 400 (NA) has 196,000 and runs great so do you think it could help prolong the life of my engine

If you are concerned that you might need one, swap in a new PCV valve and buy one of those small oil catch cans and put it on the fresh air hose to the valve cover.

Here's an example of the small "catchcans" out there.

It holds a little more than an ounce

If you find that your engine fills this up every couple days, then you should look into getting a larger catch can setup. Also, if this is the case, you're getting a lot of blowby and your motor is old and worn
