Hey guys i was flushing my PS fluid today and after all was done i decided to hear it run and i hears a strange tapping noise that was louder than normal. Im afraid it may be a shim but id like a second third and fourth opinion i understand its hard to diagnose stuff over the internet but give it a crack.

Not rod knock as typically would increase in noise as you raise rpm. Sounds like lash is out of spec..unless a shim has been displaced , you might have a valve spring fatigued throwing lash off

Yeah bud that sounds like every other 2jzge welcome to the club. there is nothing wrong with it likely a shim is just a little worn or spring fatigued as lex said. I think if it was out of place completely it would be oh so much louder.
