Default Engine Noise

hi everyone,im new to the site and also a new owner of a 1994 sc400 with 190k on it.
i dont know the car very well so im hoping you guys can help me.
there are a few problems i am having but i will use this post to deal with just this one problem first.
the car seems to run very well, when i first got the car two months ago when you hit the gas wide open you
would hear what sounded like a pinging noise or a slight valve clatter.
i only use 93 octane and i ran bg 44k thru the fuel system.
im sure now that it must be the valves ticking, only now it even does it at less then half throttle.
it is worse in the morning when you first start it up.
you dont hear it at idle, even when you first start up.
its only when you give it gas.
i spoke with lexus and they said they never need a valve adjustment but if i wanted it done it would cost
$900!
has anyone had a valve clatter like this?
could it be anything other then the valves? i dont have $900 right now to spend so is it okay to live with this
noise for awhile?
im sure something is not right because two months ago you could not hear it at all, only slightly at full throttle.
please help,thanks to all.

I've never heard of a valve issue with these cars, are you sure it's the valves that you're hearing?
