AC ground cable location?
HI, I had an issue a while ago, I had my climate control working with no problems, then I bought a metra kit for my new head unit, I think after changing it, my CC stopped working, i didnt noticed it right away, because it was middle of summer and I havent used it.
The yellow cable on the photo is def a ground wire, which comes from somewhere in the back. There is no grounding cable coming from the unit, it only has the 3 plugs in the back. Somebody told me that that yellow cable was providing ground through the metal factory brackets for the radio and ac. I tried running a wire from that yellow ground to the chasis, and from the ground to the bolts that are holding the brackets on the side of the ac, but no luck. Theres a big chance my whole ac went out somehow (although half of the buttons still light up, but nothing works), just wanted to check if somebody had a problem like that. I also heard there are people with problems after changing to the metra kit. I cant try to put back the factory metal brackets, but.....i threw them away.
