Default How to delete power steering?

i have a huge PS leak on my 92 sc400. I'm pretty sure its coming from the rack and other hoses. (more than one leak) I coundn't find a leak above the alternator, so thats one good thing.

Ive searched on this site for days and I couldnt find a way to delete or plug the steering pump to bypass the fluid. Is there a way?

I saw the post on how to change the lines to a single one.

maybe a different belt to bypass the pump? Just need to know my options other than replaceing the rack and changeing leaking hoses.

Gazi sells the steering rack/pinion with tie end rods for $130 shipped, I'd give him a holler. I got mine from him within a week. I have yet to install it though as I can't find the time or a day off in decent weather. Sorry this doesn't answer your question, but figured it could help you if you decide to buy one.

I wouldn't recommend trying to delete powersteering on this heavy of a car...
I did it for a while on one of my s-chassis and while it definetely fixed all my leaks and looked cleaner, steering was a turd in parking lots -.-

Ok, well that's good advice... I just have to start replacing stuff.. so the fluid is only in the rack, pump, and the lines right? what a mess! the boots seem dry...idk not any leaks at the pump either

I have a PS leak too and it is definitely somewhere above the alternator as it broke my alternator. Good thing it came with a lifetime warranty so I replaced it. I think you may need to rebuild it instead. I have not had a chance to get around this tho.
