How to tell if you have Ps Problem or Rack and Pinion
My cars steering is very stiff im sure i have a leak somewhere, but it holds for a few weeks. I dont know it its the power steering pump because when it gets low on fluid it whines but i fill it up istops whining but the steering is still stiff, Any ideas?

Check the rubber hoses, as if the hoses from the power steering pump has a small crack it is hard to find at times, especially if it takes time to leak out and suck in air. good luck

So are you saying that the power steering pump may have sucked in some air thats why it could be stiff?
