So just to clarify. Since my 97 auto has been swapped to a w58 trans. I should be able to run the AEM ems v2 no problem right? Since the aem will replace the auto ecu

This^. It's funny, these guys knew that your limiting factor is your trans (which it is, they got lucky haha), but they didn't know your standard is not ecu controlled. How much were they gonna build you a kit for? You could get a nice kit to bolt on with good parts from someone reputable that is familiar with your car for probably the same price or better.

Bottom line, don't let those people touch your car. They suck.

^^^^^^^ someone finally understands my point and so far we have 2 pages of internet racing regarding a box that controls an auto trans when he has a manual trans so who gives a chit about standalone's in this case.
Lets review the email sent I quote " I don't know too much about the AEM EMS v2 but i do know everyone always says "Go Standalone and be done with it". Please build me a turbo kit for my Supra as well cause my 6spd needs a good standalone. These are not 1J-2J guru's. You might want to reconsider OP.
