Default Question: 2jzge vvti vs. 2jzgte vvti

Hey guys. I got a 1998 sc300 with a stock 2jzge with vvti and was wondering if It would be worth rebuilding my ge or just swaping in a gte? I also have a automatic transmission and would like to keep it due to this being my daily driver and would like to avoid shifting gears. Much help appreciated and thanks!

if you are looking to rebuild then go with the gte... its much more powerful..... or you can just put another ge vvti... it's all about your budget and what you feel like having....

the gte is always the more powerful... the retard and advance mechanism (vvti) with the two turbos
is the advantage you have, but if you don't care about the power then stick with the na motor it will do just as good with less cost in the future (turbos are more expense if they go)

take care man

Everyone has their own path to boost. Some will go GE. Some GTE. Some 1JZ. Some 2JZ. VVTi is just a factor that can be thrown in to any of those depending on personal preference. Anyone who says one is better than the other is BSing you. They all have their minor pluses and minuses and all can make a stupid amounts of power.

That being said, the ultimate combo? NON-VVTi 2JZ-GTE.
But you really can't be disappointed by any other of the JZ combos. The motor you already have with a rebuild will make more power than you could ever desire in a daily driver.
