Default Help on MSD 8920 Install *searched*

So I'm trying to help a friend out, he's got a 93 SC300 he converted to a 2jz. He bought the 8920 MSD tach adapter, but I've searched and the closest thing I've found for an install is a post by a member who goes by "sct"

I wouldn't use e9-58(IGF) this is for "ignition confirmation signal" that igniter sends to ecu "fail safe funtion".
I'd recommend e10-16(TACO) "tach out" actually same wire as II1-29(38pin orange connector supra harness) B-W(black w/white stripe) looks like goes to the 8920 white wire.
red b+
black grd
violet to lexus Ik1-8 (black wire orange 23pin connector lexus harness) "tach in"/trigger wire to lexus tach.
If you want something under the hood looks like igniter also has a tach out black wire on four pin connector that goes to data link connector (DLC1) labeled IG- not sure what this signal looks like you could scope it on a friends supra to check it may or may not be able to drive the lexus tach as is or through the 8920?
hope this helps!
I'm pretty good at wiring but I have no idea where these plugs are. My plan was to use the tach output from the ECU (since I can actually find that). But the IK1-8 plug remains eluded from me.

I *believe* it's the plug in the passenger side foot well that is in a plastic holder with a few other plugs. Can anyone confirm?

We thought about that, but neither one of us is good at soldering stuff like that lol. I can solder some wire, but not pins

If you can do wires you can jump that thing. Doooo it! Your not really soldering pins your just soldering one piece of wire on each side of the resistor. The cluster connectors will be harder to undo than the actual soldering.

I went ahead and did it, the reason why we didn't want to was cause the tilt wheel wasn't working. To hell with it, then took off the steering wheel and wiggled the cluster off and good to go.
