Default T-61 on stock NA 2JZ-GE Engine

I'm just trying to get some information about going turbo on the stock N/a 2jz-ge engine. I'm really considering the T-61 turbo for my NA-T setup. I have 196,000 miles on the engine and its still running strong.

Everyone's input would be greatly appreciated.......

this has been done many many times, including by myself. try and do a search on the sc forum page. its all about engine health, mileage on a 2jz is like judging a book by its cover.

Also it depends on if its an auto or not because that opens a whole new book as I just found out myself.

Uh well I found a nice writeup on all of the Trans. that have come with 2j's and the auto really shouldn't be pushed past 400hp otherwise it's a time bomb. "You can shim the accumulators in the N/A auto which allows for quicker shifts, reducing the amount of time the clutch packs slip and therefore creates less heat allowing for more hp. But the problem with n/a A340's compared to the TT auto is there is a limit to shimming in the fact that it simply doesn't have enough clutch packs to hold much power." There was a lot more info in the thread I found. My own goals do not exceed 375whp so im fine with that 400hp limit, but if anyone has more info than what I found I would be glad to hear it because I wish to keep my sc auto. Oh and I have a few rebuild kits bookmarked for the auto trans as well.

-check compresion make sure u have good compresion
-check ur seals make sure u have no leaks
if u good in those two area u should be fine slapping on a 60mm turbo, just make sure u get a wideband O2 sensor and other electronics needed

400 is a rough estimate for the GE auto does not mean yours will take constant abuse at 400hp, many have failed with less power, some mysteriously hold more.
If you want a better auto swap in the gte auto and wire in the GTE ecu or a standalone (ecu is needed to control the gte trans, may have to run some wires to trans).
people practically give away the GTE auto trans, and you can pick up a JDM ecu for a few hundred these days.
