Differential swap on a stock 92-97 SC400
I was wondering how difficult is it to swap the stock SC400 3.92 diff? I'm looking to go to a higher gear (4.27) in order to improve low-end acceleration. I don't drive on the highways much and I don't plan on going forced induction, so having a more aggressive gearing would be one of the best mods to perform. Theoretically, this mod could improve the 0-60 time by as much as 0.4 seconds.
As far as I can tell, there's two options; the SC300 AT's 4.27 open diff, or the N/A Supra's 4.27 limited slip diff. What would be involved in performing the swap for either of these? Would they be a straight swap matching up to my driveshaft, or would I have to swap other parts with it?
