93 sc400 timing belt change?
Hi all,
I bought my 1993 Lexus SC 400 new and obviously don't drive it much....It has about 67,000 miles on it and still looks new. It drives perfectly however, I was told recently that I should have a new timing belt put on it for maintenance. They apparently recommend changing the belt somewhere between 70-90,000 miles. I was also told this could be expensive. Since I am pretty handy, could I do this myself? and is there an online pictorial description on how to do it?
Regards,
rcftx

Yeah 80,000 miles they recommend to replace it. Time wise is around 8-10 years. It also depends where you keep the car outside or in a nice garage. You need a couple special tools ,but nothing crazy to perform the service. It runs around $900 to $1100 saying if you get the pulleys and the water pump taken care of while there in there.
