Default Timing Belt Schedule

Hi. New here. I have question about my 1995 Lexus LS 400. I bought this car a month ago. I got lucky it has only 110 K miles from a retiree. Timing belt was done at 2008 when it had 65 thousand miles. Do you think it needs a timing belt replacement and water pump? Nothing is wrong with the car. I am considering the timing belt change due to the number of years (10 years) when the last timing belt change was performed and not on the mileage. I have no history of the car. Retiree was too old for conversation and it was his son who did the talking and they are missing the maintenance records. Thank you for your time.

NO, I dont think so... they went 13 years on low mileage, you can do the same to 2020 or 2021 to about 165k... you should be fine, just start doing your fluid changes..

I agree with Billy, you should be fine, assuming quality parts were used.
If the maintenance records are missing how do you know the timing belt was changed at 65K ?

Hello. Timing belt service change date is in front of the engine cover when I opened the hood. I am a DIY guy so obviously no expert. I just know the basic stuffs like brake pads, rotors, oil etc. This weekend I'll open the cover and check the engine and see what's inside. I have a lot to look at in this car I am hoping i got a steal on this one (110 K, garaged park, and no paint peeling and no oil leak ). This weekend will be a verdict once I dig deeper. But so far so good. Anyway thank you very much for your time. I'll just wait for the next tB change.

If you know it was a factory belt that was used, or if the timing belt sticker looks like a Lexus/Toyota dealer sticker, then I would wait until you hit 90k.

But if a Gates or Dayco belt was used, then I would change that ASAP. I don't trust the rubber or quality of these aftermarket brands very much.
