SC400 Exhaust Questions
I'm getting ready to do some exhaust work on my 98 SC400, and have some questions. I'll try to keep them in some kind of order to make this easier to read.
1) I understand that the stock SC400 exhaust is 2.25 inches...is that ID or
OD?
2) I had been planning on having a mandrel bent 2.25 exhaust w/ Magnaflow
X-pipe and Buddy Club mufflers installed, but cannot find anyone local
(Reading, PA area) who can do custom mandrel bending. I have since
decided to use 2.5 crush bent tubing w/ a 2.5 X-pipe and
two 2.5 mufflers. Does anyone know how closely crush bent 2.5 pipe
comes to mandrel bent 2.25 in terms of flow/performance?
3) I am planning on using a Megan Racing X-pipe and two Megan Racing M-GT
Universal Mufflers. Do any of you guys have experience w/ Megan's
products as far as sound/tone and quality of construction?
Finally, I just wanted to thank you guys in advance for any help/advice you can offer .

I spent a few hours reading through exhaust threads, and didn't see anything that specifically addressed the madrel vs crush bend question or my question re Megan Racings products. If these specific concerns have been brought up before, I apologize for the repetition.

This is just my opinion
1. Shouldnt matter should be close enough for a shop to match up, but i think its od
2. There's alot of debate on mandrel vs crush, performance wise i dont think you will see a noticeable difference on a stock car, volume wise 2.5 crush is greater than 2.25 mandrel. Also i think mandrel sounds better.
3. Megan products i think are tig welded, so quality and durability will be good, sound dnt know. I like magnaflow products personally.
